Singapore (May 2021) — RZE Watches, the Singapore-based titanium watchmaking company staying true to their essence of engineering durability-first watches will be debuting a new collection of titanium meca-quartz chronograph watches. The watch will be the toughest one yet on the market, with its UltraHex™️ coating which is tested up to 1200Hv hardness. The watch will be available to order on 31 July 2021.
“We noticed a lot of meca-quartz watches on the market, but we saw a gap for one with a titanium case. Our focus has always been on crafting titanium goods due to its lightweight and durability, so we decided to do something different with a meca-quartz chronograph,” notes RZE Watches founder, Travis Tan. “Furthermore, we could make use of our signature UltraHex™️ coating to make the watch even tougher, something that’s never been done by anyone else before.”
The look of the case can be described as “modern vintage”, the curves and lines taking inspiration from the “Italian Wedge” designs of supercars from the 1970-80s. This can be seen in not only the unique angled shape of the 42mm titanium case, but also in the low-profile integrated pushers that recreate the seamless aerodynamic look synonymous with supercars; a feat that was a challenge for manufacturing as the slightest misalignment would throw off the entire look of the case, so this was an extremely precise procedure that had to be absolutely perfect. However, intricate details like this have always been a focus for RZE Watches in bringing their designs to the next level without being over-the-top.
The Valour Chronograph collection is RZE Watches’ most sophisticated design yet, with the same great UltraHex™️ titanium case and hardware that have been a hit ever since they launched on Kickstarter in August 2020. This time, the Valour comes with premium-grade FKM rubber straps that are widely used on luxury watches, touted as the best of the best in the market, and are built to withstand the harshest conditions.
Keeping the design simple while still paying attention to the finer details to keep things interesting has always been RZE Watches’ forté. The Valour makes use of light and shadows to create a dramatic look, and gives the dial a lot of depth by combining multiple layers and oversized indexes.
The Valour: Mechanical soul, quartz accuracy. Powered by the SII VK64, the first meca-quartz series in RZE Watches’ arsenal, the team decided to move away from automatic movement for this collection to offer something new that’s still as precise as before, without the need for winding it up.
The RZE Valour comes in three colorways, GT Black, Vintage Salmon and Crusader White, and will be available to order on their website (rzewatches.com) on 31 July 2021.
