Since we launched the brand, one of the things we wanted to solve was pretty simple: how do you make a watch you don’t have to think twice about wearing? Titanium gave us the lightness and corrosion resistance we wanted, and UltraHex™ became our answer to one of titanium’s biggest drawbacks—its tendency to pick up scratches.
Although 'UTD' in UTD-8000 stands for UltraHex™ Titanium Digital, the Cerakote® Series deviates from the collection's namesake. We first introduced Cerakote® to our collections for Special Editions, but this time, we've decided to expand the UTD-8000 dedicated lineup.
By utilizing a high-performance ceramic coating, we're build titanium watches in colours and finishes that cannot be achievable through conventional surface treatments.
With the UTD-8000-CKO in particular, we designed this variant around Hi-Vis Orange because of its bright tangerine colour, used in a wide range of industries and applications where visibility matters. Designed to cut through deep snow, heavy brush, and even low light, it seemed like a perfect fit for our guaranteed for life digital.
More than a finish, it's a nod to the original colour of safety and adventure gear; we built UTD-8000-CKO specifically with those use cases in mind. Inspired by the emergency equipment, expedition gear and tools you can’t afford to lose, we went all out. Including a custom orange FKM strap, along with a bandaid holder and patches to label your first aid kit, this is an instance where the colour amplifies the functionality of the tool.
Taking the opposite approach to the UTD-8000-CKO, the Field Tan UTD-8000-CKT is inspired by the neutral tones of military field gear, outdoor equipment, and the dirt, mud, sand that you’ll find yourself in. More in line with our other collections, it's undeniably purpose-built, understated, and blends in with the rest of your gear.
We developed UltraHex™ to protects the surfaces from all the bumps and scrapes of your adventures as well as the corrosion and oxidation that alters the colour of titanium over time. While delivering comparable surface protection, Cerakote® enables us to transform each piece and add colour with purpose.
While our UltraHex™ watches are designed to resist evidence of wear as much as possible. Cerakote® gives us the opportunity to embrace it. Unique to the Cerakote® series, your UTD will develop its own character over time. Marks around its edges and contact points, will become part of its story, evidence of the places it's been and the adventures shared.
